ARCHON ACADEMY CONTENT DAY: VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT AND WAIVER
Event date: Saturday, 29th August 2026 from 09:00 am - 15:00 pm
Venue: Gymshark Lifting Club, Blythe Valley Park, Solihull B90 8AW
I acknowledge that I am voluntarily participating in a content filming day (the "Event") organised by Archon Academy Ltd ("Archon Academy") at Gymshark Lifting Club. I understand and agree to the following terms:
1. SCOPE OF PARTICIPATION
I understand that my participation may include, but is not limited to: taking part in physical activity and exercise demonstrations, using gym equipment, being filmed and photographed while doing so, and general assistance with the content day as reasonably requested by the organisers. I acknowledge that some activities may be physically demanding and may take place in proximity to others performing exercises or using equipment.
2. ASSUMPTION OF RISK
I acknowledge that participating in physical activity and being present in a gym environment involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:
- Physical injury from performing exercises, lifting weights, or using gym equipment
- Injury from proximity to others performing dynamic movements or high-intensity exercises
- Slips, trips, and falls in the venue
- Unforeseen incidents related to the running of the Event
I voluntarily assume full responsibility for any risks of loss, injury, or damage that may arise from my participation, except where such loss, injury, or damage results from the gross negligence or wilful misconduct of the organisers.
3. MEDICAL CONDITION AND FITNESS
I affirm that I am physically fit and have no known medical conditions that would prevent me from safely taking part in physical activity during the Event. I confirm that I am at least 18 years of age. If at any time I feel unwell or unsafe, I will immediately inform the organisers and stop the activity in question.
4. RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by English law, I hereby release, waive, and discharge Archon Academy Ltd, Gymshark Ltd, Gymshark Lifting Club, the venue owners and operators, sponsors, affiliated entities, and their respective employees, officers, directors, agents, and representatives (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury (including death) that may be sustained by me during my participation in the Event, except where such loss, injury, or damage results from the gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or breach of statutory duty by the Released Parties.
I acknowledge that this waiver does not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.
5. INDEMNIFICATION
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any loss, liability, damage, costs (including reasonable legal fees), or claims that may result from my actions or omissions, whether intentional or negligent, while participating in the Event, including injury to third parties, damage to property, or claims arising from my failure to follow instructions or venue rules.
6. INSURANCE
I acknowledge that the organisers maintain public liability insurance for this Event. I understand that I am responsible for maintaining my own personal accident and health insurance, and I am advised to review my cover prior to participating.
7. HEALTH AND SAFETY COMPLIANCE
I agree to:
- Attend any safety briefings provided by the organisers
- Follow all health and safety instructions and Event rules
- Use equipment appropriately and only as directed
- Report any hazards, incidents, or injuries immediately to the organisers
- Take part only in activities I feel competent and comfortable to undertake
8. CONDUCT
I agree to treat all participants, staff, and venue users with respect, to comply with all instructions given by the organisers, to refrain from being under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the Event, and not to engage in any behaviour that could bring the Event or the Released Parties into disrepute.
9. FILMING, PHOTOGRAPHY AND MEDIA RELEASE
I understand that the purpose of the Event is to create photography and video content for Archon Academy. I grant Archon Academy Ltd permission for my image, likeness, voice, and participation to be recorded, filmed, and photographed, and for that material to be used in any media, including but not limited to Archon Academy social media channels, the Archon Academy website, course materials, advertising, and other promotional and marketing materials, without compensation or further approval.
I understand that such materials may be edited, adapted, and used indefinitely, and I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished content. I agree not to publish or share behind-the-scenes footage or unreleased content from the Event without the organisers' permission.
10. DATA PROTECTION
I acknowledge that my personal data (including name, contact details, and emergency contact information) will be processed by Archon Academy Ltd in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. My data will be used solely for Event administration, safety purposes, and communication related to my participation. I have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of my personal data by contacting kate.ford@archonacademy.com.
11. VENUE TERMS
I acknowledge that this Event is being held at Gymshark Lifting Club, Blythe Valley Park, Solihull B90 8AW, and I agree to comply with all venue rules, policies, health and safety procedures, and terms of use as required by Gymshark Ltd and the venue operators.
12. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The parties irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales for the resolution of any disputes arising out of or in connection with this Agreement.
13. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be severed from this Agreement, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
14. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between myself and Archon Academy Ltd regarding my participation in the Event and supersedes all prior discussions, representations, or agreements.
15. ACKNOWLEDGMENT AND ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE
I confirm that:
- I have read and fully understand this entire Agreement
- I have had the opportunity to ask questions and seek independent legal advice
- I am entering into this Agreement voluntarily and without duress
- I understand this is a legally binding document that affects my legal rights
- All information I have provided is true and accurate
- My electronic acceptance constitutes a legal signature with the same effect as a handwritten signature
